I think marketing firms have finally found at least one good way to reach their core target audience of 18-34 year old males.

1. We are watching less and less TV because...
2. Most of the time we are either surfin the web or playing video games
3. If we do watch TV we're watching it DVR'd (Tivo)

This makes traditional tv commercials a way of the past.

I have a deep ethical question for anybody bored enough to answer. Today my apparently-single-big-gummed-female-allergic-to-cats neighbor came over today to ask me if the black cat that was sleeping on her couch today was mine. (It was) She has this terrible little dog, I can only assume its small by the tone of its incessant barking, that needs a doggie door. Apparently this doggie door is open during the day. Here's my ethical/moral question. Is it my responsibility to keep my cat inside all day so that he doesn't sneak into my neighbors house or is it her responsibility to keep her doggie door shut during the day?

I don't know if I've just been out of the loop but supposedly there is a new Supercar manufacturer on the block, Koenigsegg. They have just taken the new record for the fastest production car. I think the previous car to hold that record was the Lamborghini Diablo.

For some reason I've always been infatuated with the world of Industrial Design. This includes the time before I knew that the idea of Industrial design had a word for it. Before that realization, it was an abstract idea in my head. I was pretty excited to learn that there was a study in the field. It always seemed to me that everybody overseas had really cool looking stuff i.e., washer, dryers, refrigerators, etc. They had better looking Industrial Designed stuff...YES! That is what it was.

Sorry I digress.

After looking up Industrial design museums in Google I found this guy, Jonathan Ive. He is the man responsible for the design of the iMac and iPod and other cool Apple products (check out the link for of his award winning designs). He was hired on with Apple to be the vice-president of industrial design. And works side by side with Steve Jobs. What a cool job.

That is it. Just some guy I think should get some credit. And no Kris...I do not want to marry him.

Oh my god this guy is funny. I had to stop reading it in the computer lab because I was starting to cry because I was laughing so hard. But this wasn't your regular laugh out loud, eyes crying shit. I just returned from being in South Carolina for the weekend. I met my Dad there for the 2004 BMW Roadster Homecoming. All Z3's and now Z4's and X5's are made there for the whole world. Each day had it's major event:
Friday was taking a tour of the Plant.
Saturday was three driving experiences. 1.Driving the X3 on BMW's off-road course, 2.Driving a BMW 330iHP in a wet circle placing catch up to 330i. 3. Driving a Z4 with a SMG tranny on their road course. All three were a lot of fun.
Sunday was the culminating day. We started off at 9:00am meeting at an Exxon and caravaning 7 deep through some cool SC highways leading to Brevard, SC for lunch. From there Dad and I broke away to slay the Dragon. What's all this dragon non-sense I'm talking about? Glad you asked...it's a stretch of road on US 129 from NC - TN. There are 318 turns during an 11 mile stretch of road. All I can say is intense. It's pretty much like every car commercial where they're barreling down some twisty mountain road except there's people hauling ass from the other way. Sweep a corner wide? Chance taking out a crotch-rocket sweeping his corner wide. Yea it's pretty intense. I read on the official website, www.tailofthedragon.com, that they avg. 1.3 deaths/yr.
"MYTH: Riders die every week at the Dragon. We have kept an accurate count of the deaths on the Dragon since 1995. The total count is 12., for an average a little better than 1.3 deaths a year. That is too many, but compared to the number of riders who come each year it is very low. We know of no deaths in cars or trucks."
All in all, I can't wait to buy myself a roadster and go drive this baby some more.

Sorry for such long times inbetween posting. For all of you who I haven't talked to in a while, school has began once again for me. I'm taking 16 credit hours of mechanical engineering tech and loving it. There's nothing like getting a second chance at school with all the hindsight of doing it was before. It gives you a chance to step back and enjoy it. Which I'm trying to do everyday.

Here is another little of interesting tech news involving T-Mobile and Cingular.

"T-Mobile USA, Inc. today announced it has entered into agreements with Cingular Wireless LLC ("Cingular") to terminate their wireless network sharing joint venture and for T-Mobile USA to acquire 100% ownership of the shared networks in California and Nevada for $2.5 billion."

Just to follow up on my previous post on the price of gasoline. Here is something else to think about. We all know that the volatility of the price of crude oil and the price of gasoline are closely related. This is because gasoline is refined out of crude oil. The weird thing is there are many other things that flow from refining towers. The main one I want to talk about is....motor oil. How many times have you gone into your local auto parts store and seen the price of motor oil change along with the market for crude? When I worked at a national auto parts store(which will remain unnamed), I didn't see any changes in the price of motor oil on a day to day basis. Why is this? Why would the price determination for two things coming from the same (crude oil), be so different? I don't know...I don't know...maybe it's just because it tastes so good....It just tastes soooo good.

Just some questions I ask myself before I fall asleep at night.
