I think marketing firms have finally found at least one good way to reach their core target audience of 18-34 year old males.

1. We are watching less and less TV because...
2. Most of the time we are either surfin the web or playing video games
3. If we do watch TV we're watching it DVR'd (Tivo)

This makes traditional tv commercials a way of the past.

Check this out.

yes, you have finally figured out our big secret. We actually have a division of The Richards Group that does in-game advertising. I got to see a presentation on it a few weeks ago, and it was really cool. From things like product placement (you have to snowboard a rail that goes through a Honda Element in some game), to straight up sponsorship elements (making NBA/MLB games look more realistic by including the ads/sponsorships around the court/field). Very interesting concept, and really cool stuff...you didn't think we'd just give up when Tivo came along, did you?!?
